Women's Health Seminar Series

The Women’s Health Seminar Series (WHSS) is an annual series consisting of 11 seminars providing in-depth learning in a multidisciplinary, interactive fashion on a broad range of women’s health topics. While open to the DUCOM community at large, the seminars are geared toward 1st and 2nd year medical students. The topics encourage students to recognize that aspects of women's health exist in all specialties. It is our hope that students will take this understanding and incorporate it into their studies in medical school as well as throughout their careers.

The seminars are given at the Queen Lane campus and recorded as an enduring resource for WHEP’s library. Speakers are drawn from all areas of the healthcare team, thus representing a cross-section of the DUCOM community. In addition, speakers are invited from local community resources to provide students an understanding of their role as future physicians in the broader context of their future communities.

Beginning in 2011, students will have the option of completing the elective, "Seminars in Women's Health." For more information, please contact Mikelle Nickens, 215-991-8144.

The seminars are typically held on Tuesdays in SAC B at the Queen Lane Campus from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Food is provided.

2011-2012 Seminar Schedule

For the 2011-2012 year, the Women's Health Seminar Series is supported by the Alumni Association.
