As a faculty member of Drexel University College of Medicine, I affirm:

1. I will be trustworthy and act with integrity in all spheres of academic life and professional relationships, including education, training and mentoring, patient care and research.

2. I will treat all students, residents, patients and their families, professional staff, volunteers, research participants, other faculty and health care professionals with respect, dignity and fairness, and without bias against race, ethnicity, culture, religion, gender identity or expression, disability or other social identities.

3. I will promote safe, supportive, and successful learning, research and practice environments based on mutual regard, collaboration and teamwork.

4. I will honor the primacy of the welfare of patients in clinical care and when they participate in clinical research.

5. I will practice the humane and responsible care of laboratory animals in biomedical research.

6. I will safeguard students and trainees from mistreatment, including but not limited to: public humiliation or shaming; threat of harm; exploitation of power through requests for personal services or unwanted sexual advances; stigmatization; or undermining academic advancement for reasons based on personal bias.

7. I will provide clear direction and timely feedback and coaching to the students, residents, and other trainees I supervise.

8. I will respect confidentiality and privacy of my trainees, co-workers, patients and their families in my verbal and written communication and use of social media.

9. Should I serve as a provider of medical, psychiatric or psychological care to a medical student, graduate student, or other trainee, I will not participate in any academic assessment or grading, or in any decisions regarding academic advancement, graduation, or postgraduate career advancement. I further understand that I am expected to notify appropriate course, curriculum and/or program directors if I anticipate or become aware of a potential conflict so that alternative educational arrangements can be made.

10. I will follow University and College of Medicine policies, including Drexel University conflict of personal and professional interest.
