Responsibilities:
• Handles all aspects of finances, including management of both department and grant budgets
• Oversees human resource needs, as well as the administrative affairs of the department
• In partnership with sponsored programs, and with the PI, prepares, reviews, and approves budgets for department grant awards and manages and coordinates department grants and contracts
• Develops and presents the consolidated budget with the assistance of the department chair
• Proactively monitors the consolidated budget, preparing financial forecasts, identifying and analyzing financial problems, and recommending solutions
• Monitors/reviews and controls expenditures and ensures an accurate year-end close under budget

• Coordinates department chair activities, processes departmental grant submissions, and creates job postings and manages new hires
• Oversees the faculty and staff yearly performance evaluation process and handles all faculty appointment, promotion and tenure applications
• Works in conjunction with the department administrator on budget issues, including credit card reconciliation
• Manages the seminar series and acts as the program assistant for the master of science program
